Chris Nelson, Managing Director

Chris established Pure Recruitment Group in 1999 and has a leading reputation in the structured tax and finance areas with significant experience recruiting at director and managing director level.

Prior to this, Chris spent time at Michael Page International where he took on responsibility for the firm’s legal, tax, accounting and management consultancy businesses. Chris spent his early career with Arthur Andersen as a tax consultant in their London office after reading Law at Leeds University.

Chris’s interests include golf and marathon running, though seldom at the same time.

Waheed Akbar, Manager

Waheed is responsible for expanding our finance search practice, specialising in the placement of senior managers, controllers and directors. Waheed has spent his entire career working in the finance recruitment field, during which time he’s developed a remarkably strong network of contacts.

Prior to joining Pure, Waheed worked as a headhunter for Alexander Mann Ltd and as a finance search specialist on behalf of recognised plcs and smaller organisations. Waheed graduated in Economics & Management from Cardiff University.

He is a passionate football fan, an avid reader and a keen travel enthusiast.

Andrew Refausse, Executive Consultant

Andrew operates within the finance search arena, specialising in the placement of finance directors and senior commercial managers. Titles will include heads of business/financial analysis, directors and group strategists.

Andrew has over seven years experience delivering on executive finance and strategy appointments within Global Banks, Credit Card and Insurance businesses.

Having spent his first three years in recruitment with a boutique search firm, he joined a leading international recruiter, where he headed the senior finance desk into financial services in London.

Andrew graduated in Management Studies and Psychology from Leeds University.

Rupert Jupp, Executive Consultant

Rupert specialises in the search for senior finance roles with a specific focus on roles within Retail, FMCG, Food Services and the Leisure industry. Positions include; CFO, Finance Director, Head of Audit & Senior Financial Control.

Rupert has over eight years recruitment experience within the commercial finance sector. Prior to joining Pure Finance, he worked for five and a half years for a publicly listed search business focussing on the mid to senior management level, including secondments in Hong Kong and Tokyo where he was asked to set up the commercial finance divisions for both offices.

Rupert is a keen traveller and has spent most holidays travelling around Asia with a particular passion for diving. In London Rupert plays regular 5-aside football and is often on two wheels cycling around town.

Kate Ingram, Executive Consultant

Kate operates within the finance search arena, specialising in the placements of senior finance controllers and directors. She focuses on the IT/Telco sector therein making her a specialist within this area of the market.

While working for a well recognized financial recruitment company in London, Kate gained extensive experience in financial recruitment and has successfully delivered on a number of key senior finance campaigns in a variety of different sectors.

She holds a Bachelors degree in English Literature, from the University of British Columbia. 

Kate spends a lot of her time outside work travelling and enjoys cooking. She was also a national level swimmer in her native Canada and competed in the 1996 Canadian Olympic Trials.
